Your CV is the tool you use to get you an interview and its importance cannot be underestimated. It is what the employer uses to make a ‘first impression’ of you that will or will not take you to the next stage of getting a job.

Remember in the current skill and labour supply shortage you are competing for staff as well as business. Your job ad should provide enough information to attract the interest of the jobseeker.

Interviews are nerve racking at the best of times, however if you haven’t had an interview for a while or had quite a few knock backs (which is often the case with older workers) then they can be simply terrifying. It goes without saying that you won’t get the best in an interview situation from someone who is terrified.
